Do your coverings offer a more sustainable solution?
Are they recyclable?

Our brand was selected by the British Film Designers Guild to participate as an exhibitor, in the suppliers’ section of the International International Prodution Design Week in London – 2023, at the event: Circular Design: Universal Language in Sustainability. This event addressed the need to create “sustainable films” that encourage collaboration between different departments, with the goal of supporting the environment and responding to the audience’s growing demand for more sustainable forms of entertainment.

Using our panels is a more sustainable option than other systems because:

  • Panels can be reused in multiple sets.
  • They require no construction framework, avoiding unnecessary building materials.
  • 100 m² of real tiles weigh approx. 2000 kg, while the panels needed to cover the same area weigh 40 kg. The reduction in weight and volume results in substantial fuel savings during transport.
  • At the end of the shoot, there is no need to tear down heavy constructions, which greatly reduces the volume of waste and the resources required to manage it.

Regarding the product’s recyclability, our PVC supplier reports:

Our rigid PVC items, manufactured and supplied to our customers, contain on average around 7% recycled raw material. The main raw material in our products is PVC, which is a recyclable material and is widely recycled around the world. We provide this product information based on our current knowledge and experience; however, we cannot offer any guarantee nor accept any liability for factors outside our control or knowledge.

For all products with MATT finish, we apply a water-based polyurethane varnish, which prevents the material from being recyclable. (If you prefer, you can request them without varnish, but they will have a glossy finish.)
